About me

I'm a PhD student studying cognitive neuroscience in Woolgar Lab supervised by Alex Woolgar and John Duncan at MRC Cognition and Brain Sciences Unit, University of Cambridge.

I'm interested in the neural basis of cognitive control, selective attention, and human intelligence. Particularly, my study focuses on a distributed multiple-demand network across the frontoparietal brain regions, which is thought to be crucial for human intelligent behaviours because of its incredible function to flexibly and adaptively process task-relevant information. My current projects concurrently combine TMS with fMRI or EEG to causally examine the role of multiple-demand regions in selective attention and cognitive control. Using multivariate analysis of fMRI/EEG, my study aims to examine how task-relevant information is represented and transformed between brain regions. 

Before I came to Cambridge, I studied at the Institute of Psychology, Chinese Academy of Sciences as a Master student majoring in developmental and educational psychology. I, therefore, am also concerned about the mental development and education of children in rural China. With the help of my previous research groups and NGOs, I was engaged in many large-scale studies helping develop effective and feasible interventions to improve the mental development status of underprivileged children. One of the projects I was involved in called "One Village One Preschool" has won the prestigious 2018 WISE Awards.
